About This Plant
Red Tiger Darjeeling Banana, Musa sikkimensis, is a rare tropical-look banana grown from seeds. It features red-striped foliage with burgundy undersides and is described as fast-growing, reaching up to 12 feet tall, with strong, wind-resistant leaves. It is native to the Himalayas and is grown for its ornamental appearance, with fruit that is edible but not very sweet. The plant reportedly dies back in cold climates and regrows in spring, offering a tropical look with seasonal dormancy.
